Cobalt Quartz
“Cobalt Quartz” is a 12×24”, artwork on 1 1/2” cradled wood.
A deep field of blue and black holds a network of luminous lines, like a fracture illuminated from within. Metallic currents move across the surface, not breaking the piece apart, but binding it together.
Beneath the surface, layers begin to reveal themselves.
Fragments of clear sparkle and opal-like flakes catch the light at different angles… subtle at first, then suddenly alive. The depth is not immediate, it unfolds. What appears flat becomes dimensional. What seems still begins to shift as you move…energy traveling with purpose.
The darker space allows the light to exist. And what appears as a divide becomes a connection.
