Vessel
“Vessel” is a 36x36” mixed media painting on gallery wrapped canvas.
Built in layers… seven in total… this piece holds what was beneath before it was ever meant to be seen.
Created during a time of separation and clarity, Vessel reflects the process of stripping away what no longer belonged… in order to make space for what did.
The horizon line is formed from rusted iron… marked by a single line of steel.
Around it, everything shifts, oxidizes, and breaks down.
The steel does not. It holds… unchanged… a quiet line of truth within a changing environment.
Beneath the final surface, traces of pink and blue remain… subtle, almost hidden… a presence of both sides, held within the same form.
The first of these was kept… given before anything was certain.
